KAY NEWMAN

Associate Broker / Realtor

As a longtime native of Southwest Mississippi and born in Tylertown, Kay Newman is well acquainted with the times and ways of the small towns and communities in the area. Kay began her real estate career 24 years ago selling beautiful homes, luxurious lodges and cabins, executive homes, hunting tracts, recreational properties, and anything you could call real estate. Kay has always given much attention to learning and growing in her knowledge of the industry by becoming a Certified Residential Specialist and training through the Realtor Land Institute in order to accommodate all facets of the rural market.

It is the joy of helping others that motivates Kay, and she will quickly say she is not a true salesperson, but rather a listener. “I listen to the desires and dreams of my clients, collect some choice properties for viewing, and watch to see what really excites their hearts and what

fits their financial goals and budgets.” Although she doesn’t consider herself to be a salesperson, Kay has been a top producer for many years of her career with annual sales topping $10,000,000. Recognized for her leadership skills, she was voted to serve as president of the Southwest MS Board of Realtors and served in leadership positions with her company and in other areas of the Realtor Board.

Prior to entering the real estate industry, Kay found her niche in the newspaper world where she
wrote columns and editorials, served as a support staff at a prison ministry, administrator of a small Christian School, and a leader of clubs and associations where she gathered a beautiful garden of relationships that made real estate seamless.

Kay gives much credit for her success in real estate to her late brother, Doug Rushing, who began his career by opening one of the first real estate offices in the area in 1972. He was a king in the land business and he is missed by many. Today, with the love and support of her three adult sons and their families, she hopes to be the best real estate grandmother in Southwest MS.
